This is i of my AP English texts — and I'thousand loving it so far. It'south very attainable, and unlike almost textbooks, it'due south not tiresome.

Here is my favorite quote from the book so far:

This book clearly depicts the aspects to rhetorical devices in the English Language. The textbook'southward clarity makes it a valuable tool for students of all ages. After using it in class, students (in my feel) take get more than comfy with identifying the rhetorical devices for the AP Language and Limerick examination. I strongly recommend this volume for anyone who wishes to pass the test with flying colors. The essays are very well called in this book. The collection is a valuable i and will This book conspicuously depicts the aspects to rhetorical devices in the English Language. This one is bittersweet. I started teaching with this book in a school year during which administration knew I would miss 1/3 of the school year due to maternity leave. Let that sink in: I was assigned to teach an AP class for the first time when I had been completely transparent that I was as well becoming a parent for the offset time during the schoolhouse yr. Meaning I had August-midOctober and midMarch-earlyMay to prep students for a college level examination. 🤯

I continued to teach the course with this textbook for 2 more years. At this moment, it is non on my schedule for fall (fewer sections, my colleague usually teaches the number of sections we are offer in 20-21), and I am relieved, but also sad not to have the opportunity to proceed growing as an educator with this class. I have learned then much, and love the way this information technology has shifted my thinking most what to read and how to think about it.

well not entirely sure how to write a review for a text book.

So far I really appreciate the consistence betwixt this and the 50 Essays book. Both acknowledge at to the lowest degree ii of the aforementioned essays, which helps me psychologically back up the thought that these are really skillful, well known essays, and non randomly picked by each other. It helps me appreciate the essays more, and brand them feel worth reading.
