Is Colin Powel a Born Again Christian
I tweeted earlier, asking what'due south worse: that some Americans stupidly believe that Barack Obama is a Muslim, or that the discussion "Muslim", in and of itself, has go a "smear"?
As Anthony Painter then pointed out, the former Republican secretary of land Colin Powell tackled precisely this point in a memorable interview on NBC'southward See the Press, prior to the presidential election in 2008.
I thought I'd dig out Powell'southward wise words, because they are (sadly) and so relevant one time once again:

I feel strongly about this particular betoken because of a picture I saw in a mag. It was a photograph essay virtually troops who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. And equally the pic focused in, you could see the writing on the headstone. And then, at the very top of the headstone, it didn't have a Christian cross, it didn't take the Star of David, it had crescent and a star of the Islamic organized religion.

And his name was Kareem Rashad Sultan Khan, and he was an American. He was born in New Jersey.
